Short Bio

Welcome all! This is first post on my blog section, which I’ll use to post thoughts and updates. This is just a short bio about me now. My name is Zyele Gaither. I’m a jazz studies major at the College Conservatory of Music (CCM) at the University of Cincinnati. I play trombone, but I also arrange, produce, and compose. My love for music started at a very young age. Starting with gospel, classical, contemporary, etc. I started playing trombone in the 7th grade, and got introduced to jazz in the 9th grade. I almost instantly fell in love with listening, but not short after I was hooked on playing to. I was new to the world of improvisation, but I really enjoyed that aspect of the music. I started taking jazz more seriously my senior year before I decided to come to CCM in the fall of 2019.
