BIO

Zyele Gaither is a trombonist, composer, and arranger from Cincinnati, Ohio.

He began learning the trombone at the age of 12. After graduating from Walnut Hills High School in 2019, he graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music, along with a minor in commercial music production.

Upon graduating from university, he began teaching at the Kennedy Heights Art Center as the trombone instructor. Aside from teaching private lessons, he also plays in his own jazz quartet, along with various local big bands.

Zyele grew up in church, and his love for combining music with ministry led him to travel nationally playing gospel trombone. In 2024, he joined the group Small Fires, which released an album from a live recording that year.

In addition to playing jazz and gospel, Zyele also plays for several local and regional groups, along with writing for local artists.
